The Panchthar-Dhankuta section of the Tamor Corridor and the Panchthar section of the Mechi highway have been blocked due to flooding due to continuous rains.

The road has been blocked since the midnight of Sunday after the Hewa river under the Panchthar section of the Mechi highway crossed the surface of the diversion constructed there.

Similarly, Rupesh Tamang, Information Officer of District Police Office, Panchthar, informed that after the flood in Nawa River in Tamor Corridor, there is no condition for vehicles to cross this section.

According to him, motorbikes are coming and going from the suspension bridge in Nawa River of Tamor Corridor. According to Road Division Ilam, the blockage in the Hewa river will be opened after the diversion is repaired as soon as the water level rises.
