It is estimated that more than four thousand houses in eight local levels of the district are at high risk of monsoon disaster. Four thousand 47 houses in 35 settlements of eight local levels are at risk of floods.

According to Anup Paudel, Information Officer of the District Administration Office, according to the Disaster Preparedness and Response Plan-2081, 3,904 houses in the district are at risk of landslides and 143 houses are at risk of floods. Molung Rural Municipality-8 Gourigaon, Palaru, Khimli, Owangi, Bhirkuna, Ragandeep, Tanku and Sepluka, 2,500 people from 520 houses are at risk of landslides. One hundred and sixty-five houses of Champadevi rural municipality-8 Bilandu are also at high risk of landslides.

Harakpur, Majhigaon and Jayaramghat of Toxel located in Manebhanjyang Rural Municipality-6 and 7 and one hundred and 43 houses on the bank of Sunkoshi River in Palapu of Champadevi Rural Municipality-1 are at risk of flooding and inundation. As the risk increases, the administration has issued a circular to the local level to immediately transfer the citizens of the risky settlements to a safe place, asking the citizens to be cautious. Chief District Officer Vijayraj Subedi says that the district level mechanism has been mobilized for disaster risk reduction, rescue and relief and coordination with the local levels is also underway. According to the District Disaster Management Committee, various schools, clubs, community buildings and open spaces have been managed for immediate use during disasters.

There is a risk of landslides in all municipalities of the district and flood and inundation in the coastal areas of some municipalities. From the point of view of soil erosion, Okhaldhunga is the most vulnerable district in Koshi province. Every year there is loss of people's wealth due to floods and landslides.
