Rajkumar Timilsina has been arrested for providing fake audio in the 'Dark File' report broadcast and published by Sidhakura Online. Timilsina was arrested by the area police office Itahari on Sunday evening from the office premises.

 

Timilsina went to the police office in Itahari for a discussion about a case of his wife. After the police suspected him there, on further questioning, it was revealed that he hid his real name and gave another name. Later, during the police interrogation, it was confirmed that he was the absconding defendant of the 'Dark File' report, and he was arrested, Deputy Superintendent of Police of Itahari, Lakshmi Bhandari informed.

Timilsina was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment by the Supreme Court on October 13th in the case of making fake audios defaming Supreme Court judges, lawyers, media entrepreneurs and journalists.

The audio content broadcasted by 'Sidhakura.com' under the name of 'Dark File' was 'fake' by the Supreme Court. The 9-member extended full bench of the Supreme Court found the producers and broadcasters guilty of contempt of court and sentenced them to imprisonment.

Timilsina, who made the audio, which was also proved to be 'fake' by laboratory tests, was sentenced to 6 months in prison, and Yuvraj Kandel and Navin Dhungana of 'Sidhakura.com', who broadcast it, were sentenced to 3/3 months in prison. Similarly, it was decided to pay a fine of Rs 5,000 to 'Sidhakura' online.

According to the decision of the then Chief Justice Vishwambhar Prasad Shrestha and judges Prakashman Singh Raut, Sapna Pradhan Mall, Prakash Kumar Dhungana, Hariprasad Phuyal, Nahkul Subedi, Vinod Sharma, Mahesh Sharma Poudel and Balkrishna Dhakal, Dhungana and Kandel were run as central jails. Timilsina was absconding after the verdict of 6 months imprisonment was given to Timilsina in accordance with sub-section (4) of section 17 of the 'Administration of Justice Act, 2073' for the offense of producing and broadcasting fictional content.

The police said that they are preparing to take him to Kathmandu today.
