With the decision to celebrate this year as the 'Koshi Tourism Year', the Koshi State Government is carrying out promotional activities for the promotion of tourism. The state government announced that this year will be celebrated as the year of tourism in the policies and programs and budget of the current financial year and allocated the budget.
Under the chairmanship of Minister of Tourism, Forest and Environment Sadanand Mandal, the Tourism Year Steering Committee has been formed and various programs are being conducted. Under this, two groups are currently forming propaganda programs in different places of the country.
Vasudev Baral, a member of the Tourism Year Steering Committee, informed that promotional activities are being conducted for the promotion of the province's tourist destinations through 'Destination Introductory Tour' and 'Road Show' program for local and foreign media persons. Stating that 17 journalists from India, including Nepal, are visiting the tourist destinations of the province as part of the
tourist destination tour program, he said that introductory and promotional programs are being held at various places in the country under the leadership of Rajan Dangal, a member of the Tourism Year Steering Committee.
Stating that the tour program will continue from Friday to Monday, Baral mentioned that 17 journalists including one from Nepal, one from Sikkim, four from Vihar, three from West Bengal are identifying, observing and promoting tourist destinations. , so far, places such as Ramdhuni Temple in Sunsari, Barah Kshetra, Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve, various religious and natural heritages in Dharan, Mathamandir, Orange City in Dhankuta, and Chotlung Park in Laligunras Municipality in Tehrathum have been visited.
'Dhankuta's Orange City has been built by combining two tolls, because oranges grow more, it was found that Orange City was built to encourage orange farmers and promote tourism,' he said.
Baral, who is also the General Secretary of Koshi Province, informed that the Mundum Trail, Halesi Temple and other places in Bhojpur will be visited today. Under the leadership of Dangal, a member of the
committee, Road Soka programs are being held in different places of the country since June 11. So far, two programs have been completed in Kathmandu, two in Lalitpur, one in Pokhara, one in Narayangadh and one in Hetauda.
According to him, 100 million budget was allocated under tourism, forest and environment in the current year. Baral informed that the provincial government has allocated a budget of Rs 100 million for the tourism year in the policy and program and budget for the coming year.
'Out of that, the Ministry will spend 44.7 million rupees on the construction of tourism infrastructure, identification of tourist spots and other areas. The remaining amount will be spent through the private sector working on tourism, he said.
