Sakela rural municipality has passed a policy to save money in the name of the child after birth. The program to collect money in the name of the child born from next July has been mentioned in the policy and program presented at the 15th village assembly held on Tuesday.

According to the policy and program presented by Village Chairman Ravi Prakash Rai, under the 'Newborn Savings Scheme', an account will be opened in collaboration with SBI Bank and 10,000 to 15,000 will be deposited every year. Rai also said that the amount will be increased annually. It has been mentioned in the policy and program that the municipality will arrange from internal income until the age of 18 in the opened account. Rai said that in order to open a

account, a child must have been born in a health institution, the birth must be registered on time, they must have studied continuously in a public school within the municipality until at least class 12, and they cannot migrate and go elsewhere. According to Rai, this will prepare children for higher education and a better life. "I am hoping that this program will create an environment for children to be born in the hospital, register births on time and study in the community schools of the village," Rai said, "I think it will prepare the children for higher education and a better life."
