In Bhojpur, 48 cameras have been installed in four community forests for the protection of the endangered red panda (Habre). According to Redpanda Network, information about the condition of Redpanda is being taken through cameras.
Ganesh Shrestha, president of the collective campaign Bhojpur, informed that cameras have been installed in New Khark, Bhurukhek, Dhappare Ekrate and Maiyung Samdayik forests here. He says that the red panda was found in Dhappare Ekrate Community Forest here.
Similarly, Officer Kapildev Adhikari of Division Forest Office Bhojpur informed that eight thousand malingo saplings were planted in Bhurukhek and Mahabhir Walwani community forests in Temkemaiung-1 Sava. He said that three large ponds have also been constructed in these areas for the protection of red pandas and other wild animals.
In the last financial year, the authorized officer informed that the work worth 1.3 lakh 30 was completed with labor donation for pond construction and red panda's food malingo planting. He says that red panda conservation at this place on the Mundum footpath will also help tourism here.
According to the National Wildlife Protection Act 2029, if a red panda is stolen or hunted, a fine ranging from one lakh to five lakh, imprisonment from one to ten years or both is provided.
