A community hospital with 200 beds has been constructed in Kathari rural municipality-2 Haldibari of Morang.
Jeevan Bikas Community Hospital and Technical Education Foundation was inaugurated by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Saturday. The total investment in this hospital is two billion rupees.
President of the hospital and member of the House of Representatives, Yogendra Mandal, informed that there is a long-term plan to transform the hospital into a medical college with a capacity of 500 beds. Mandal was elected as an independent candidate from Morang constituency number 5.
According to him, the hospital currently has 25-bed ICU, 9-bed NICU, and 10-bed CCU with state-of-the-art services. Emergency services, OPD services, painless delivery, surgery through binocular technology, pediatric treatment and dialysis services will be available. More than two dozen specialist doctors will serve in the hospital with more than 200 manpower . Mandal said that preparations are being made to conduct undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the subjects of MBBS, Nursing, Pharmacy, Medical Lab, Physiotherapy and Radiology through the Technical Education Center established along with
Hospital.
The state-of-the-art hospital and teaching structure spread over three blocks of eight floors has been designed in a child-friendly, women-friendly, disabled-friendly manner.
