The Government of Nepal, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation have allocated a budget of 30 million to construct the required building for the 'Mundum International Art Museum' established in Diktel Bazar.
The Ministry of Tourism will provide a budget for the construction of the required building for the Mundum International Art Museum established in Diktel by keeping the canvas paintings made during the 'Mundum International Painting Workshop and Exhibition-2080' held at Diktel Bazar in 2080. Diktel Rupakot Mazhuwagadhi Municipality organized Mundum International Painting Workshop and Exhibition from 17th October to 20th October 2080. Mundum International Art Museum has been established in Diktel by incorporating 182 canvas paintings made by famous painters from 50 countries and prepared by other painters in direct painting workshops and exhibitions organized in various tourist spots.
It is said that the former vice-chancellor of NAST, Prof. Dr. Jeevraj Pokharel, started the design work after the Ministry of Tourism provided the necessary budget for the construction of the building for the Mundum Art Museum. The deputy head of the municipality Bishan Rai informed that the design work has started to use maximum bamboo materials in the Mundum International Art Museum building, which will be built from the budget allocated by the ministry for the next financial year.
Mundum International Art Museum has been established in Diktel Bazar by collecting the paintings painted on canvas by famous painters from Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, Japan, Egypt, India, Latvia, Lithuania, South Korea, America, Ukraine and Vietnam including Nepal. The Mundum International Art Museum, established in five rooms of the shopping complex in Diktel Bazar, Ratna Park, which is the main commercial center of the district, was officially inaugurated by Badri Prasad Pandey, the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation of the Government of Nepal, on 29th December last year. Addressing the opening program of the
museum, Minister Pandey responded that the work initiated by the municipality in art, literature and original culture/works preservation and tourism promotion is commendable. Mundum International Art Museum has been opened to the public free of charge after its inauguration.
City chief Teerthraj Bhattarai said that 'Mundum International Art Museum' was established with the goal of connecting Khotang people who are scattered all over the world in one place and introducing Khotang and the whole of Nepal to the world through painting and promoting tourism and economic prosperity.
Mundum painting workshop and exhibition by including the canvas paintings made by world-renowned painters and prepared by other painters, the municipality organized the Mundum International Painting Exhibition at Nepal Arts Council, Babarmahal, Kathmandu from February 5th to 17th, 2080. President Ramchandra Paudel formally inaugurated the painting exhibition, which was directly observed by high-ranking people of the country.
The painting exhibition organized for 13 days in collaboration with Dhanu Art Studio Kathmandu was formally concluded by the then Prime Minister and Chairman of Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
American painter and professor Joy Wolf, Latvian painter Anda Paikane, Nepali painters Ratan Kumar Rai, Vijay Thapa and other famous painters from 50 countries were invited to Khotang to paint the ten local religious, historical and touristic places and religion, customs, culture, tradition and local lifestyle on canvas.
