Kamal Tamang of Bhojpur Municipality-6 Bhangeri is doing commercial fish farming. He got involved in business with the goal of becoming an example in the village by using the experience and skills gained abroad.

He said that now he is doing commercial fish farming in five ponds in his own place . He informed that 60 kg grasscarp fish sawdust was left in the pond. Farmer Tamang said that doing business with his family in his own place is a special joy. 

He said that after spending five years in Malaysia as part of his foreign employment, he started fishing by benefiting from his experiences there. He said that if you can become a professional and do agricultural work in your own place, you can get better income than abroad.

"Many young people seem to be attracted to foreign countries, but they only know the sufferings of foreign countries when they get there. I have entered this business with the idea of ​​doing business in my own place rather than suffering abroad. If you work hard here, you can get a good income", he said. 

Along with fish farming, he said that he is working with a plan to make commercial chickens and ducks here. Tamang said that the goal is to get an annual income of Rs 8 to 10 lakh from the business. He said that the fish produced from the ponds in the hilly areas will be sold in the market for Rs.650 to Rs.700 per kg.

According to Shailendra Karki, the ward president of Bhojpur-6, an incentive program has been conducted for young people who are engaged in business. After the local government launched the incentive program, the number of people engaged in commercial agriculture in the villages is increasing. Assistance programs are being conducted by the ward and municipality based on their business plans for farmers. Ward is conducting various support programs to encourage farmers. He said that the basis of their business plan is providing necessary support.

As the ward is connected to Bhojpur headquarters, the farmers are earning a good income from commercial fish farming, vegetable farming and cash crop cultivation, Ward President Karki said.
