Rural roads in the hilly areas of the district have been blocked due to floods and landslides. Bishnu Pathak said that rural roads including Rauta-Salle, Rauta-Bhutar from the headquarters Gaighat to Rauta Salle have been blocked.
He said that due to the heavy rain on Saturday morning, rural roads in these areas were destroyed and some were buried by landslides. According to local Dilliram Magar, the rural roads of Pambu area including Rauta-Namant, Rauta-Amptar, Nametar-Okhreni, Rametar-Bhadure are also blocked. Local Divyaraj Magar said that the road leading to Majkhark via Rauta-Murkuchi via Dillibar was also destroyed at various places and blocked due to floods.
Jambu Sherpa of Majkhark says that due to continuous rains, the rural roads in the hilly areas of the district have been destroyed by potholes or buried by landslides. The rural road going to Basbote Barah in Limchungbung through Murkuchi-Dillibar-Majkhark has also been blocked.
Ganga Magar of Dumre said that there is a problem in the operation of transport vehicles as the Bhalayadanda-Barre, Dumre-Udaypurgarhi roads of Udaipurgarhi Rural Municipality are also destroyed. The road connecting Mainmaini from Kothu of Belka municipality-8 has been blocked due to collapse. He informed that the roads of four hill villages of the district were blocked due to Saturday's rain.
