A rare Goman snake named 'Spring Cobra' has been found in Biratnagar. This is a dangerous species of Goman snake that vomits poison from outside.
Behind the Nobel Hospital located in Biratnagar-4 Dr. It was found at Sunil Sharma's residence on Tuesday afternoon. The snake rescue team took control of the snake and handed it over to the District Forest Office, Morang. However, it is said that during the rescue, when the snake threw poison from outside, the rescuer of the Metropolitan Municipality, Shambhu Ghimire, fell on his body.
He is currently under the supervision of health workers in the emergency room of Koshi Hospital, Biratnagar. It is said that his health status is out of danger.
According to doctors, the venom of these snakes can have serious effects especially on the face and eyes. It can cause danger ranging from temporary blindness to permanent vision loss.
Rarely seen in Nepal, the "Spitting Cobra" is a unique species found in South Asian territory, which attacks by spitting poison from outside after sensing its prey or danger. According to the forest and health authorities, this species starts appearing outside especially during the summer season.
The Health Division of the Metropolitan Municipality has said that the risk of snakebite will increase in the Terai-Madhesh region during the summer season. Such venomous snakes hide especially in bushes, gardens, sheds and cold/dark places of the house. The
department has also requested to inform immediately if such strange or poisonous snakes are seen in other areas or around the house.
