Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality is engaged in promotion of bamboo materials. The municipality has come up with a plan to increase the income of entrepreneurs by manufacturing various materials made from bamboo and marketing them.
Conducted training for skill development of entrepreneurs. City chief Tirtharaj Bhattarai said that the training was conducted in two phases in the current financial year. Bhattarai says that since the demand for bamboo products is increasing, the number of entrepreneurs should also be increased. "The demand for bamboo materials has come from different parts of the country to America," he said, "so the demand cannot be met without increasing the number of entrepreneurs." Acharya said that 30 people participated in the three-month training from November 28 and 15 people participated in the refresher training from March 21. One trainer from India and one from Morang were called for training.

Acharya said that the Bhaktapur-based Changunarayan Foundation, which is run with the help of the Netherlands, has provided a monthly allowance of 75 thousand rupees for two trainers. Besides, Acharya said that Changunarayan Foundation will also provide Choya cutting machine. Likewise, the municipality provided lunch allowance to the participants at the rate of five hundred rupees per day.
The first National Bamboo Conference was held on February 15, 16 and 17 in the main project of the municipality with the aim of promoting bamboo products.

The municipality has started using furniture made from bamboo. Furniture made of bamboo is placed in the offices of the city mayor and deputy chief . Bhattarai said that the municipality itself has started using the bamboo material produced in the city for promotion.
