Mayor of Birtamod Municipality Pavitra Mahtara Prasain said that the health sector has been given special priority by the city. 

'We are preparing for round-the-clock service operation,' he said, 'There is a problem because the construction work of the new building is not completed on time.' Mayor Prasai said that the construction company is delaying the work. Now the city hospital has 15 beds. "We have made the city hospital a special priority," he said.

Municipal Deputy Chief Nagendra Prasad Sangraula said that after the effective delivery of services from the city hospital, people's representatives from different districts come to understand the state of operation of the city hospital and exchange experience. The hospital is going to start dialysis service soon. "Six dialysis machines have been received from donors," he said. Health services are being provided by one city hospital and basic health centers in eight wards in

municipality. Eight basic health center buildings have been constructed at a cost of Rs. 100 kinds of medicines are being distributed free of charge from the municipal health center. According to the municipality, 89,764 people have received health care services in Birtamod Nagar area The hospital has a staff of 60.
