A scooter driver was killed and one person was injured in a collision with a truck in Damak last night.

According to District Police Office Jhapa, the deceased is 22-year-old Ankit Limbu of Taplejung Dobhan. In the same incident, 42-year-old Srijana Rai of Panchthar Miklajung rural municipality-4 was injured and her condition is critical, police said.

According to District Police Chief Rajan Limbu, when they were returning from work to their room, last night at the gate of Ravi Stand located in Damak Municipality-1, a truck with number G1K 6437 coming from Beldangi towards Damak hit a scooty with number May8P 4558 going from Falgunand Chowk to Beldangi.

After general treatment at Damak Hospital, the injured are being treated at Biendsi Hospital in Birtamod for further treatment. The truck driver is absconding after the accident.
