In the nine months of the current financial year, 776 new domestic and small industries have been registered in the district.
According to Janaki Bhattarai, information officer of the Domestic and Small Industries Office, 431 new domestic and small industries were registered in the industry and 345 in the commercial sector during that period. During the same period, one thousand 168 industries and one thousand 273 industries were renewed in the commercial sector.
In the nine months of the current year, 394 industries and 128 commercial industries were closed while 522 industries were closed, 23 industries were replaced and 130 industries expanded their business. He said that the number of new additions in Jhapa is increasing rather than closing industries.
