Tank Prasad Baral, the former vice president of Shanishare gavis of Jhapa, died in a road accident on Wednesday afternoon. Baral, a resident of Arjundhara Municipality-10, died in an accident on the east-west highway located in Mechinagar Municipality-13, according to District Police Office Jhapa.
Baral was seriously injured when a truck No. 3 B 2353 going to Charali from Birtamod hit a motorcycle No. 8 P 6498 going in the same direction near Pragati Community Forest. Baral was rushed to B&C Hospital, Birtamode for immediate treatment. But after being taken to the hospital, the doctor declared him dead.
Truck driver Panchthar Fidim municipality-11, Thaluprasad Ekten Limbu, 38 years old, has been taken into custody by the area police office Dhulabari and has started investigation.
