The community schools here, which were closed due to the teachers' protest, have started opening after pressure from the parents. Some schools started operating from Sunday after the parents increased the pressure to start the studies saying that the future of the students is bleak.

Ilam Municipality also issued a statement on Sunday calling for the opening of schools. Bishnu Bhakta Bhandari, a teacher of the school, said that Vinapani Secondary School in Puwamzhuwa, Ilam Municipality-3 has been operational since Sunday. "Some students came to the school today, they wrote their names and distributed the books," he said.

Nirmal Timsina, a teacher of Nepaltar Secondary School located in Ilam-1, said that the school had to be put into operation from today after pressure from parents. Khandrung Secondary School located in Deumai Municipality-9 Jitpur has also started functioning from Sunday.

Som Niraula, headmaster of Amar Secondary School of Ilam Municipality-5, said that even though the parents requested to open the school, it will take a few more days to open. He says that the decision will be taken after discussing with the parents.

After the closure of the school for a long time, Ilam Municipality issued a statement on Sunday, expressing solidarity with the protest and asking them to open the school after looking at the future of the students. In a statement issued by the mayor Kedar Thapa, it is said, 'Because students are not enrolled in schools on time, the psychology of students is also being affected, parents are also serious and sensitive, and there are talks about meeting the demands of teachers through the Education Act, so we sincerely appeal to the Ward Education Committee, School Management Committee and teachers and staff of all public schools of Ilam Municipality to advance the annual educational program so that student enrollment and examinations are not affected at all.'

Ran Bahadur Rai, Mayor of Suryodaya Municipality, said that it is necessary to start the school.   'There should be a creative movement so that school enrollment is not affected. The federal government should address the demands of the teachers through dialogue,' he said, 'it is not possible to make the classrooms of community schools empty.'

Ganesh Kumar Khadka, a teacher of Himalaya Secondary School Suryodaya Municipality-1 Gorkhe, said that the government should address the demands of the teachers and create an environment for the school to open immediately.
