50,000 fine to food industry by Mechinagar municipality

Mechinagar Municipality has intensified the monitoring of local markets and cooperatives. Businessmen who found errors during monitoring have been fined and cooperatives have been warned.

During the market monitoring led by Meena Upreti, deputy head of the city, pasta, semolina and flour that had passed their use-by date were found in Pooja Food Production Industry of Mechinagar-9. Pushpa Jaiswal Chowdhury, the owner of

industry, was fined Rs 50,000 for playing with the interests of consumers, said Agni Prasad Adhikari, Chief Administrative Officer of Mechinagar Municipality. After paying the fine, the municipality has opened the lock imposed on the industry during the monitoring on the condition that the above province will not be negligent.

Municipality's food analyst Dipendra Karki said that monitoring has been conducted at Nanda Food Industries located in Mechinagar-10 and Singapore Beverage Nepal Pvt Ltd located in Mechinagar-14. 

Due to lack of attention to hygiene, food analyst Karki informed that the management of Nanda Food Industries was alerted and instructed to arrange sanitation in the industry. 

Meanwhile, the Cooperative Coordinating Committee formed by the municipality has inspected 15 cooperative organizations in Mechinagar.  Karki, the municipal official who is also the secretary of Cooperative Coordinating Committee, has approved 15  During the monitoring of cooperatives, suggestions were made for improvement to eight cooperatives that did not follow cooperative values ​​and standards.  The

committee has reported that it has monitored the Mechinagar-10 Lankasari Women's Multipurpose Cooperative Society, Tarawari Shanti Savings and Credit Cooperative Society, Mechinagar-14 Mutual Society Savings and Credit Cooperative Society, Vihani Batach and Credit Cooperative Society, Mechinagar-12 Mass Campaign Savings and Credit Cooperative Society, Sabzimandi Agricultural Cooperative Society, Charali Savings and Credit Cooperative Society, Mechinagar-13 Hopeful Multipurpose Cooperative Society.

Similarly, Krishna Thumki Cooperative Society of Mechinagar-1, Wauddhamod Agricultural Cooperative Society of Mechinagar-2, Prerna Agricultural Cooperative Society and Bramand Handicapped and Women Savings and Credit Cooperative Society, Panas Agricultural Cooperative Society of Mechinagar-4 and Small Kisan Agricultural Cooperative Society and Nakalbanda Savings and Credit Cooperative Society located in Mechinagar-5 have been monitored.

In eight of the monitored cooperatives, it was found that the meeting of the board of directors was not regularized, loans were invested without collateral, employees were not given appointment letters, loan procedure clauses were not mentioned in the Tamsuk, decisions made by the loan committee were not kept in the file of the borrowers, letters of self-declaration of shareholders' assets and loan approval were not kept in the file, monthly reports were not made, information parties were not held, general meetings were not held in the specified period, member education programs were not arranged, and loan risk funds were not arranged. .
