Halesi Tuwachung Municipality-11 Rajapani has produced 6.6 megawatts of hydropower from Sapsukhola.

The electricity produced by the promoter company Three-Star Hydropower Company of Sapsukhola hydropower project was connected to the national transmission line in 2078.

The hydroelectricity produced from the power house (power plant) located in Beldanda, Rajapani is connected to the national transmission line through a sub-station built in an old village near Rajapani, two and a half kilometers away.

It is reported that the work of Sapsukhola hydropower project has been completed with an investment of around one billion 50 million. The water brought to Beldanda from Sapsukhola, which is four kilometers away, has been produced by dropping seven thousand liters of water per second through a 110 meter penstock to generate hydroelectric power of 6.6 megawatts.

It has been found that the promoter company, which produced hydroelectric power by building a dam in Sapsukhola, Basuwa, Rajapani, produced hydroelectric power by drying the water in the river itself. Although there is a provision that at least ten percent of the water should be released in the river while producing hydroelectric power, all the water was taken to the dam.

In Sapsukhola, it has been reported that the hydroelectricity promotion company has been producing hydroelectricity without releasing water into the river since its inception.

Local Kumar Budhathoki has complained that there is a problem in farming after the river has dried up and returned the water to generate electricity. There has been a problem with the water drying up in the part below the dam of the hydroelectric project in Sapsukhola. Not only that. The project has not even implemented the agreement made by sitting at the district police office before, he said, "After operating the hydropower project by diverting the water so that the well dries up, we have not been able to water the fields at the time we need." Due to this, there was a problem in planting Chaite paddy this year.'

The local residents said that they have informed the district administration office about the fact that the promoter company has dried the water of the river and operated the hydroelectric project. Chief District Officer of Khotang, Narahari Ghimire, has informed that he has not yet received any information from any agency about the water being diverted by the hydropower project to dry up the river.

Sapsukhola is one of the rivers that get the most fish in the district. After the water dries up in the area of about 4,200 meters from the dam to the dam, the local people have said that there is a water problem for the birds and wild animals as well.

Pradeep Dahal, the local head of the project to produce hydroelectricity from Sapsukhola by drying the water of the river, has said that the flow of water in the river has decreased during winter. We have not taken water to the dam to dry up the river itself. However, due to the dry yam, the water in the river has decreased, he said, "according to the amount of water in the river, we have released water so that it is at least ten percent." This cannot be said to be a violation of the agreement.

Three hydroelectric projects are connected to the national transmission line along with the Sapsukhola hydropower project produced from Sapsukhola in Rajapani, Halesi Tuwachung Municipality-11 from the district with ten local levels.

Along with the Sapsukhola hydropower project, the three megawatt capacity Rawakhola hydropower project produced from Rawakhola located on the border of Kapilasgadhi rural municipality-6 Dipsung and Ward No. 7 Sungdel and the one megawatt capacity Sapsukhola hydroelectric power plant produced from Mewakhala located in Diktel Rupakot Mazhuwagadhi municipality-5 Lafang are connected to the central transmission line.

Locals have complained that the Rawakhola hydropower project has not released water in the river as per the standards. Prazia Ghimire has informed that after receiving complaints from the locals, they have contacted the Rawakhola hydropower project operator and instructed them to release at least ten percent of the water according to the standards.
