A fire broke out in Sunsari's Koshi rural municipality-6 on Thursday, causing damage worth 60 lakhs.
10 houses belonging to five families were destroyed when the fire (ghura) lit to drive away flies and mosquitoes of the cattle was destroyed. Local Birendra Kumar Yadav said that there was a loss worth 60 lakhs.
When the houses of local Babunand Goit, Ramanandram Yadav, Manoj Yadav, Khusilal Goit and Vijay Goit were destroyed by fire, he said, there was a loss worth 60 lakhs. In the fire, local Babunand Goit's 1 lakh cash was burnt and destroyed.
Similarly, the assistant spokesperson of the district police office and police inspector Dinesh Adhikari informed that all the furniture inside the house including gold and silver were destroyed in the fire.
The fire broke out in the house of a local Babunda. According to the District Police Office, the fire was extinguished with the help of Nepal Police, Armed Police, local residents, and fire brigade of Koshi Rural Municipality.
