The Koshi state government is going to organize an investment conference for the first time from May 18 to 19. Although the conference was fixed for January 11-13 according to the predetermined time, the date of the conference was postponed due to lack of time for preparation.

The provincial government said that preparations for the investment conference have been accelerated through a press conference in Biratnagar on Wednesday. 14 projects worth 1 trillion 39 billion rupees will be presented at the

conference, Provincial Secretary Pawan Kumar Timilsina, coordinator of the conference secretariat, informed. Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki said that preparations for the conference have been accelerated and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli plans to inaugurate the conference. "This is not only a conference of the government, but of Koshi province", he said, "The conference is going to be held for capital building of the province." Among the 54 projects to be presented at the

conference, there are more projects in the agriculture and tourism sectors. Chief Minister Karki said that the state government is continuing its efforts to bring in private, NRN and foreign investment.

Minister of Internal Affairs and Law of Koshi Province, Revathiraman Bhandari said that various legal provisions are going to be amended to create a comfortable environment for investors. He said that the amendment of the law is being prepared so that grants can be given according to the standards and necessary amendments are also going to be made in the Investment Authority Act.

In the same way, it is said that through the Land Use Act, the land for river elevation can be leased. "We are moving forward through the one-door system, there is a plan to move forward by solving the legal and policy problems", Minister Bhandari added.

dr. Saroj Koirala, the chief executive of the conference, has claimed that fifty projects are in hand for the conference. However, according to the secretariat, only projects that can be implemented are prioritized.
