According to Subas Pandey, head of Kakandvitta-based Nepal Transport and Godown Management Company Limited, unprocessed jute worth 1 billion 60 million has been imported from Bangladesh. Similarly, other items imported include batteries, poultry feed supplements, cosmetic items, hydrogen peroxide, jute yarn, electrical equipment, medicine, potato, paper, glass, food and beverage items.

There has been a retail export of 23 crore 62 lakh 58 thousand from Kakdvitta. During the review period, herbs, household materials and animal feed were also exported to Bangladesh. Expressing concern that the balance in bilateral trade could not be maintained, Chief Pandey said that it can be compensated by exporting electricity.
