The Tamor Corridor (Dharan-Panchathar-Taplejung) road has shortened the distance between the hills and the plains. On the Tamor bank, the road made of Panchthar's wall was covered with black paper, and on the other side, the people of Terathum's wall were confused.

Paved road on the other side, but broken Tamor in the middle. Although the road was built along the banks of the Tamor, the road did not touch the people living on the thirteenth side of the river. They were in a state of nowhere.

To get down to Dharan, they had to walk across the suspension bridge and cross Tamor, or they had to go down the Hille-Dhankuta road from Friday. But now the common people in Terhathum area will also be able to descend from the Terai through the Tamor Corridor.

Sidhuwa-Shukrabare-Fakchamara-Hakparaghat road is going to be connected to Tamor Corridor. In Hakparaghat there is Tumbeva Rural Municipality on Panchtharpatti, Chhathar Rural Municipality on Tehrathumpatti. Also, the plan to connect Chhathar and Tumwewa here is not new. But due to the neglect of the political leadership and responsible government agencies, the negligence of the construction company and the non-cooperation of the local residents, the construction of the bridge at Hakparaghat was stalled.

After learning that the construction of the bridge is at a standstill, the people's representatives and administrators of the two districts reached Hakparaghat and sought a way out. Former Urban Development Minister Sita Gurung herself has reached Hakparaghat to avoid the problems seen in the construction of the bridge.

'From the beginning, I have been pressing continuously that this bridge should be built. But even now, the work has not been completed," she said. "We have made an agreement between the construction company and the locals that it should not be delayed much longer." As the Tamor Corridor blackening work progressed, the old access road leading to the bridge was blocked and the local residents disagreed about the new access road, which affected the construction of the bridge.

After discussions in the presence of local residents, local people's representatives, chief district officers and police chiefs of the two districts, it has been agreed that the construction of the bridge will be completed by November 083. Along with ex-minister Gurung, Arjunbabu Mabohang, head of Laligurans municipality, Santosh Tigela, president of Chhathar rural municipality, Baburam Khadka, president of Tumbeva rural municipality of Panchthar, local ward presidents reached Hakparaghat.

Since the working environment has been fixed, they have also taken the commitment of the construction company to complete the construction work on time. Currently, the road between Sidhuwa and Shukra has been paved and the road from Friday to Panchkanya is also under upgrading. From Panchakanya to Hakparaghat, there is only a road track. A decade has passed since the opening of road tracks here. 

The contract for the construction of the bridge was also signed in October 076. The plan was made by the federal government. But later these projects were transferred to the state government. After that, the construction work is being done by the state," said Gurung, "It is being built under a multi-year contract."
