The black paper work of Everest tourism road connecting Khumbu from Phaplu via Taksindu has started. With the help of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the black paper work has started to be implemented through the Rural Road Network Improvement Project under the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development of Koshi Province.
The foundation stone of the road, which will be built at a cost of 37 crore 28 lakh 76 thousand 760 rupees, was laid on Tuesday. Congress tourism department head and central member Angelu Sherpa and Solududhakund municipality chief Namgeljangbu Sherpa laid the foundation stone at zero point in Phaplu on Saturday. Baniyan Nirman Seva Hetaunda has signed a contract to complete the road blackening work of about 10 kilometers from Phaplu to near Ringmu in Taksindu within 2 years.
After the blackening of the strategic road connecting the Khumbu area, going to Dudhkund will be very easy, said Sherpa, the town chief. The representative of the construction company, Uddhab Neupane, informed that within two years, the work will be done as soon as possible. The contract for the road was signed on November 17 and the work started on Tuesday.
