A non-governmental bill has been registered for the first time in the Koshi State Assembly for the protection, promotion and development of all the national languages spoken within the state.

CPN (Maoist Center) MP Gombu Sherpa and CPN (Unified Socialist) MP Khinu Langwa Limbu have registered the 'Bill 2081 to regulate the language of government work in Koshi Province' in the Provincial Assembly on Wednesday.

In the bill, it is mentioned that all government work and public documents in the office will be documented and archived in Maithili (11.19 percent) and Limbu/Yakthung (7.31 percent) languages which are fully used in provincial government work .

If the bill is passed and implemented, it is said that the applications, proofs, documents etc. related documents submitted by the service users in the official language of the offices in the province will be documented and archived in the same language.
