The construction of the shortest distance road connecting various districts of Eastern Terai from Diktel Bazar, the main commercial center of the district, has reached its final stage.
Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-4 from Ahale in Khalle to Halesi Tuwachung Municipality-11 Rajapani Regmitar road construction work has reached its final stage.
After the construction of the road is completed, the compulsion to travel from Diktel to Mahure-Buipa-Vijaykhark-Rajapani to reach Regmitar will end, said Mayor Tirtharaj Bhattarai. Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality has started the construction of this road from the financial year 2079/80 under the project of Gaurav. Only five hundred meters are left to be constructed. We are planning to complete this road connecting the eastern Terai within a month", he said, "Diktel-Regmitar road construction has already spent 85 lakh rupees of the municipality. For this road, the Koshi state government has provided a budget of Rs 40 lakh for this year.'
It is said that for the construction of this road, 40 lakhs was allocated from the municipality in the year 2079/80 and 20 lakhs was allocated in 2080/81. Khalleka Ward President Khagendra Rai informed that the Diktel-Khanidanda-Regmitar road construction work has been progressed at a fast pace through the budget allocated in partnership between the municipality and the state government.
Local residents have been happy after the municipality accelerated the construction of Diktel-Khanidanda-Regmitar road under the project of Gaurav. Last year, as an alternative to the under-construction road, traffic was conducted through the old village of Halesi Tuwachung Municipality-11 Rajapani to Regmitar.
After the opening of the Diktel-Regmitar road, the road upgradation work will be continued from next year, Deputy Chief Vishan Rai said. We are preparing to operate this road,' he said, 'Diktel-Mahure-Regmitar road is winding.
