The Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Centre) is going to start the Terai-Madhesh public awareness campaign with the main slogan 'Maoist with the people'. Maoists said that the campaign which will start from Kachankawal in Jhapa on February 12 will reach Kanchanpur via Hulaki Highway and end.
According to Chairman of Maoist Center Koshi, Harkawahadur Nemwang (Mikso), President Prachanda will launch the campaign from Kachankaval, the Hocho region of the country, on February 12. It is said that the campaign will focus on the postal highway connecting Terai-Madhesh.
Maoist Center's Koshi Province in-charge Hariwol Gajurel said that during the campaign, direct meetings and dialogues will be held with the people. Gajurel said, "You are going to campaign with the aim of correcting the mistakes and weaknesses of the past and moving forward in a new vein."
Gajurel said that the campaign is focused on integrating the public opinion obtained by the Maoists in 2064. "We will directly meet and communicate with the voters of 2064 and their families," Gajurel said, "We will also request them to vote again in the upcoming 2084 election as in 64."
Gajurel claimed that the Maoists, who were excited by the results of the by-elections held a while back, are planning a 'clean sweep' in 2084. He added, "In 2084, we are planning to make history by repeating the results of the past." In the by-elections, the Maoists won two ward presidents in Udaipur, including the chairmanship of Gramdhan rural municipality of Morang in Koshi province.
