In the fire that broke out in Halesi Bazar in Khotang, a tri-religious place, more than 73 million rupees have been damaged. Halesi Tuwachung Municipality-7 Mahadevasthan, Halesi Bazar, Halesi Bazar's kitchen, four houses, three hotels, a hardware shop, microfinance office were destroyed in the fire last night.

In the fire that started at around 7:00 p.m., a single kitchen house made of iron trusses and a two-storied concrete house of the Halesi Darshan Hotel in Prakashchandra Giri, a local area, were partially damaged, causing a loss of Rs. 30 lakhs. Paruhang Hotel of Bharansher Rai, which is connected to Airakh Rai's house, suffered partial damage to the second and third floors of the Charate Paving Building.

Kamal Giri, spokesperson of Halesi Tuwachung Municipality and Ward President of Ward No. 7 Mahadevasthan informed that although there were no human casualties in the fire, a large amount of wealth and material materials were destroyed. "Everyone's help was available in time to control the fire. Even though it happened at night, we managed to prevent human casualties," he said. "We are coordinating with various agencies to provide relief for the fire victims. It has been decided on all sides to distribute the collected relief through a one-way system.

About 500 people including Ranbhim Gana Mudhe Barracks, Armed Police Force No. 7 Halesi Gulm, Nepal Police, District Administration, Local Level, Locals were deployed to control the fire. The fire, which started from the kitchen near the gas shop of local Padmasher Rai at around 7 o'clock on Sunday evening, was brought under control after four and a half hours at around 11:30 o'clock.

Hemant Rai, chief police inspector of the area police office Halesi informed that there was a problem due to lack of water to control the fire in Halesi, which is a drought-affected area. The incident of fire in Halesi Bazar, the gathering place of Hindus and Buddhists, due to the lack of fire engines, caused a lot of damage. 

Mayor of Halesi Tuwatchung Municipality Vimala Rai informed that the fire in Halesi market was brought under control immediately with the help of everyone. There is no fire department in the municipality. There was a lot of problem in controlling the fire due to lack of fire brigade. However, we managed to bring the fire under control after about 4 and a half hours by using the available resources and tools," he said. "The fire has caused great damage. We cannot provide relief to the fire victims as much as there is damage. However, coordination is being done with the Minister of Home Affairs, related ministries, etc. We are trying to apply bandages for the fire victims as soon as possible.'
