Residents of Khasibas are forced to drink river water

Residents of Katari Municipality-1, Upper Khasibas of Udaipur have a drinking water problem. As there is no water supply project, the locals here are forced to drink river water.

Locals say that with the onset of winter, the water in the river dries up, causing more problems. "There is a water problem in the villages above the river," said local Gyan Bahadur Tamang, "They come to the lower villages to wash clothes and take a bath, but there is also a problem in feeding water to the cattle."

According to Tamang, water is being operated from various projects in the lower part of Khasibas. There is no water project in operation in Upper Khasibas. Rudra Bahadur Rai, a local, said that when the river floods during the rains, even drinking water becomes a problem. He said that there is a situation in which the water needs to be dug up in the winter.

50-60 houses in Upper Khasibas have water problems. Even in Lower Khasibas, the water operated by the project is not enough.  Locals say that people who use water by connecting a motor to the river have a problem because the water becomes muddy due to floods in the rains and the water decreases in the winter.

Although this village is surrounded by Chure forest, it is suitable for animal husbandry, but the locals say that there is a water problem.
