870 people benefited from heart screening camp at Tehrathum

Eight hundred and seventy people have benefited from the free heart check-up camp conducted in the headquarters, Manglung. In the camp, heart tests, diabetes, high blood pressure and other tests were conducted. Patients with heart problems came from all the six municipalities of the district for examination.

The free heart test camp was organized by the organization of Lions Club of Kathmandu Buddha Universal and with the technical support of Shaheed Gangalal Heart Center Kathmandu and the coordination of MP Sita Gurung, Myanglung Municipality, Nabil Bank and various organizations in the district.  Gangalal Heart Center Executive Director Dr. Gangalal Heart Center Kathmandu will provide free treatment to patients who have been tested in the

camp. Ravi Malla said. He said that the Jayanti Memorial Trust will bear the cost of transporting the patients. A team of 18 expert doctors including cardiologist Dr. Deepak Limbu provided services in the camp. 

It is necessary to go to capital and well-equipped hospitals to get specialist heart services from Tehrathum. He said that the camp was organized to provide services to people with heart problems in the difficult eastern hilly districts like Tehrathum as it costs money and time and is not accessible to everyone.

Myanglung Mayor Sanjay Kumar Tumbahangfe expressed his gratitude for being able to coordinate all parties in a remote district like Tehrathum for heart testing. MP Gurung said that she succeeded in bringing the heart health camp in Tehrathum district after long efforts.
