The head of Fungling Municipality, Amir Maden, has asked the 'No Cable Car Group' not to run away from the talks. On Monday morning, he held a press conference with seven ward presidents of the municipality.

He said that he was concerned about the breakdown of the talks and said, 'You have reached a place where you can find a solution, don't run away from the talks, come back after finding a solution.'

He also expressed his displeasure that people from outside Taplejung were also participating in the talks with the government. Stating that the local level has the right to grant permission for the construction of Kevalkar, that right was used by the head of the city before him, Chhatrapati Pyakurel, and he said that he renewed it. He said that the issue of cable car is mixed with politics and argued that the problem of Taplejung will not be solved by politicizing it. In the

program, all the ward presidents asked for unnecessary political interference from outside districts as the people of their ward were in favor of building a cable car. Objecting to the misconception that the people of Taplejung are against the cable car, they asked the media workers to speak the voice of the real people. Yogesh Bhattarai, ward president of Fungling Municipality-11 Fawakhola, where the cable car will be built, said that like 100 percent of the people of his ward, they are in favor of the cable car and are anxiously waiting to see when it will be built. "If the people of my ward protest, it cannot be built there," he said, "but there are no people in protest." Mohan Neupane of Ward No. 2, Tank Palungwa of Ward No. 3, Yogendra Niraula of Ward No. 7, and Tej Gurung of Ward No. 6 asked the agitating group to find a solution through negotiations. Durga Palungwa of Ward No. 4 emphasized on the need to proceed with the construction process after agreement.

Outgoing Deputy Chief of Fungling Municipality Tara Bhattarai, General Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kamal Limbu, Chairman of Non-Governmental Organization Federation Taplejung Khadgavikram Subedi urged the agitating groups not to organize a program that would cause suffering to the people and citizens by holding a strike to maintain the argument that the cable car construction should not be obstructed.
