Police have arrested Pradeep Maden, one of the leaders of the 'No Cable Car Group', which called for the Mechi Highway and Tamor Corridor to shut down the traffic in connection with the clash in Pathibhara.
Kirtiman Maden, the leader of the protest group, said that the police arrested him from Kopche in the headquarters of Fungling.
The police said that on January 12th, Chief District Officer Netra Prasad Sharma was arrested on charges of threatening to kill him over telephone and leading the Hujjat that day.
"We have taken him under control," Deputy Superintendent of Police Ravi Rawal said, "He had threatened the Chief District Officer over the phone and he was also the leader of the 12th Hulhujjat." Maden is also the coordinator of the Identitarian Morcha Taplejung.
Mukkumlung Sangharsh Samiti, Cable Car Sangharsi Sangharsh Samiti, Kirat Yakthum Chumlung and other organizations have called for an indefinite traffic shutdown on Mechi Highway and Tamor Corridor since Tuesday, demanding the cancellation of the Pathibhara cable car and the release of the arrested workers.
Panchthar on the Mechi Highway, from Ilam to Charali in Jhapa and Panchthar on the Tamor Corridor to Mulghat in Dhankuta. This road connects to Dharan via Bhedetar.
