Tea export from Mechi customs office has increased by 55.70 percent in the six months of the current fiscal year 2081/82. According to the data of the office, tea worth Rs.

During the same period, 11 thousand two hundred 32.27 metric tons of tea was exported, said Ganapati Kandel, Information Officer of Mechi Customs Office. In the same period of last year 2080/81, tea worth one billion 90 million five lakh six thousand rupees was exported. 

With the decrease in tea production in India, the export of Nepali tea is a good thing, said Aditya Parajuli, the president of the Tea Producers Association. President Parajuli claims that if the Nepalese government facilitates the export of tea, tea exports will increase further due to the increased demand in India. According to the data of the

office, the export of cardamom has increased by 16.7 percent till the end of December of the current year 2081/82.

In the six months of the current year, cardamom worth four billion 557 million 69 thousand rupees has been exported. In the same period of the last year 2080/81, cardamom worth 3 billion 90 million 58 lakh 06 thousand rupees was exported. According to the data of

office, the export of plywood 27.90, cement clinker 4 thousand 141, veneer seat has increased by 236 percent. Likewise, there has been a decrease in the export of iron sheets, churpi, ginger, cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli, iron etc.
