The Koshi Pradesh League football tournament will be held in Dharan from January 28th. The organizer Koshi Pradesh Football Association held a press conference on Monday and informed that the Koshi Pradesh Premier League will be held from January 28 to February 6.
Kishore Rai, President of Koshi Pradesh Football Association informed that league champions from 11 districts of Koshi Pradesh will participate in the tournament to be held at Dharan Stadium. It is said that a total of 25 lakh 25 thousand rupees will be spent to complete the competition.
The provincial league champion will get 2 lakh rupees in cash, the runner-up will get 1 lakh 50 thousand rupees and the third place team will get 1 lakh 25 thousand rupees. Rai said that the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has given 15 lakh rupees for the tournament and 20 lakh rupees has been requested from the Koshi state government. The organizers said that the other amount will be supported by various agencies.
Sunsari's Dharan Football Club, Morang's Samrat Sporting Club, Jhapa's Dhaijan Charali Football Club, Dhankuta's Deurali Football Club, Sankhuwasabha's Loruhang Football Club, Ilam's Red Horse Football Club, Panchthar's Panchthar Football Club, Udaipur's Gaighat Football Club, Khotang's Buipa Sporting Club, Progressive Football Club of Taplejung and Library Football of Bhojpur Clubs will compete. These 11 teams are divided into 4 groups.
The organizers said that the league champion and the runner-up team will be allowed to participate in the national league. Chairman Rai informed that each participating club will be given preparation expenses at the rate of 25,000 for the preparation of the league and will ask the state government to find sponsors for those clubs.
