One person has died after being attacked by a wild elephant in Sundararaincha, Morang. 71-year-old Hariprasad Ghimire of Sundarharaincha Municipality-8 died after being attacked by an elephant that entered the settlement with its prey on Friday night.

According to District Police Office Morang, Ghimire was attacked and died when he tried to run away after an elephant came and started causing trouble in the house in the middle of the night. Ghimire was killed on the spot after being attacked by a Maui elephant with a child.

Earlier, 60-year-old Chandrakumari Limbu, a local resident of Gurung village, died in the attack of an elephant on the 15th of January last year in the model community forest located in Sundarharaincha municipality-5. Recently, the local people are scared by the terror of wild elephants in the area around Sundararaincha.
