Renowned wildlife photographer Chungba Sherpa has passed away. The 64-year-old Sherpa died tonight at 12:15 pm during treatment at Grandi Hospital.

Sherpa, who has a permanent address in Khumbu Pasanglhamu rural municipality-1 Lukla in Solukhumbu, was undergoing treatment for a week due to liver problems. He was being treated by putting him on a ventilator. Phunuru Sherpa, the ward chairman of Khumbu Pasanglhamu rural municipality-1, informed that Sherpa died during treatment.

He has two sons and three daughters. Sherpa, who has been associated with the Nepali Congress for a long time and is also involved in politics, was also the Chairman of Nepali Congress Khumbu Pasanglhamu Rural Municipality. He was a candidate for the chairman of the village in the previous two elections.

He is involved in the tourism business and is also the former village chairman of Chowrikhark. Active in wildlife photography for several years, Sherpa was associated with various national and international organizations related to photography.
