Citizens suffer due to lack of concrete bridge in Satighat

There is no concrete bridge at the Satighat of Arun River connecting Bhojpur-Sankhuwasabha, causing problems for the locals. Citizens have been suffering for years due to the lack of a concrete bridge at this place, which is the main gate to enter the outer district from the northern region.

As an alternative measure, it has been operated here since about six years ago. But the local residents say that they have to face the problem as it will be closed again due to various technical problems, wind and water flow.

Due to the lack of a concrete bridge over the Arun river, the citizens of Shadanand municipality and Salpasilicho rural municipality, which are the business centers of the northern region, have been facing problems for years. Local resident Naveen Karki said that the state needs to pay attention to the construction of a concrete bridge in Satighat.

'Due to the absence of a bridge on the Arun river, the citizens of the entire northern region are facing a problem,' he said, 'the road is being made black in the Nadiwari Shadanand area. But ironically, there is no bridge on the Arun river. If a bridge is built on this river, it would help the development of our region.'

He says that during the rainy season, when the flow of water increases, it is completely closed again, so there is a forced situation to carry the goods on the back along with the traffic from the suspension bridge itself.

'A long time has passed in the hope that a bridge will be built at Satighat,' he said, 'Until now, there is no concrete bridge anywhere on this Arun river from the northern region. This ferry is the biggest option of the vehicle transfer. It also closes when it starts raining.'

has been operating here since 2076. Due to various technical problems, it is also closed from time to time. Local residents say that after the water flow increases, it will be completely closed again. Regularly only about 6/8 months  It is operating again.

In winter, to cross the river, it is operated again from 7 am to 10 pm. At present, the citizens of Shadanand municipality and Salpasilicho rural municipality have been moving to and from the outer districts with the help of this ferry.

Even though there was some relief in solving the current problem, Shadanand Municipality head Surendra Kumar Udas said that there is no solution to the permanent problem. Chief Udas says that he is taking the initiative to build a concrete bridge here.
