Establishment of wildlife rescue, treatment and rehabilitation center in Udaipur

Wildlife rescue, treatment and rehabilitation center has been established in Sisaghari wetland and tourism area located in Katari municipality-5. The center has been established with the approval of Division Forest Office Triveni.

According to Dil Bahadur Adhikari, Coordinator of the Tourism Zone Management Committee, injured wild animals found in Solukhumbu, Okhaldhunga, Khotang, Udaipur have been rescued at the center. "Even now, two nilgai and four deer have been treated and kept at the center," he said.

Chief Division Forest Officer of Katari Division Forest Office Anirudh Sah has established a center for the rescue of injured wild animals found on Madan Bhandari Highway and surrounding districts. "The aim is to rescue the injured and orphaned wild animals and leave them in the forest or bring them to the national park elsewhere," said Officer Sah, who said that since there are no centers in the surrounding districts of Solukhumbu, Okhaldhunga, Udaipur, and Khotang, this center has been put into use.

Chief Sah says that this center needs to develop capacity. "For its development, there is a need to train one person in the zoo of Jawalakhel and hire a skilled healer," he said. Ward President Mohan Tamang said that since wild animals are kept in the wetland area which is a tourist area, it also attracts tourists. Ward President Tamang says that after establishing the center with the help of the Forest Office, it has helped in the development of tourism. The wetland established in the forest area of ​​Sisaghari Community Forest User Group is also a tourist spot in this area.
