The Karnali provincial government has brought a budget of Rs 35.39 billion 85.48 million for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84. Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Rajiv Bikram Shah said that the budget for the upcoming year has been increased by 7.28 percent compared to the current fiscal year.
In the budget presented by Shah in the Karnali Provincial Assembly meeting on Monday, Rs 8.60 billion 45.56 million (24.31 percent) has been allocated for current expenditure, Rs 20.74 billion 67.12 million (58.31 percent) for capital expenditure, and Rs 5.54 billion 72.80 million (15.67 percent) for financial transfers.
According to Finance Minister Shah, the government will mobilize Rs 855 million 90 thousand for internal revenue for the upcoming year and an estimated amount of Rs 6.41 billion 51.9 million that will be saved instead of being spent in the current fiscal year.
According to him, Rs 10.66 billion 85 lakh 49 thousand have been received from the federal government towards revenue sharing, Rs 10.63 billion 23 lakh towards fiscal equalization and Rs 5.67 billion 25 lakh from conditional grants.
Similarly, Rs 667.8 million towards supplementary grants and Rs 485.6 million towards special grants and Rs 9.6 million from foreign aid will be mobilized from the federal government, he informed.
