The Karnali government's policy and program have been passed. The policy and program for the fiscal year 2083/084, which the government brought on Wednesday, was unanimously passed. Speaker Nanda Gurung announced the unanimous passage of the policy and program in the provincial assembly meeting held on Friday.
Provincial assembly members who participated in the discussion on the policy and program said that the old things have come up in the policy and program. The ruling party members said that they saw the old programs in the policy and program for the new fiscal year. They were of the opinion that it should be improved further.
MPs Bindaman Bista and Bedraj Singh, who are also former finance ministers, said that the past programs have been repeated. They said that popular programs have disappeared. Bista said that the programs that always come up in the policy and program are not implemented. According to him, the issue of including Surkhet Airport in the policy and program but not being implemented has been repeated again.
Mangal Bahadur Shahi, the leader of the parliamentary party of the main opposition Nepali Communist Party, called this policy and program a complete 'copy-paste'. Former Chief Ministers Rajkumar Sharma, Hikmat Bista, Janaki Singh and others stressed that the situation where programs keep coming but are not implemented should end.
Most MPs raised questions about the popular 'Bank Account for Daughter, Security for Life' program. They expressed concern over the disappearance of the popular program. This program, which came when Mahendra Bahadur Shahi was the Chief Minister, had been abandoned in recent times. It was not included in this policy and program.
Chief Minister Yamlal Kandel answered the questions raised by the MPs. Responding, he said, 'I have no comment on whether the policies and programs brought by a single presenter or leader are now called copy-paste or anything else.' He said that when he was in power, he would bring the same thing and show off, but when he was out of power, he would show off.
Instead, he said that there has been no significant change in what MPs and leaders say. He said that some things have been corrected compared to the past and that further corrections are needed.
