The District Police Office raided Shyam Sundar Agrawal's Shiva Imperium (clothing shop) in Tallobazar, Birendranagar Municipality-6 on Monday evening and seized gold and silver jewelry worth about 30 million Nepali rupees and 811,800 Indian rupees (1,298,000 Nepali rupees).

Agrawal, a 63-year-old Indian-origin businessman, is a permanent resident of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City-10. He had been trading clothes at wholesale prices by expanding the business started by his father. According to District Police Spokesperson DSP Kavindra Singh Bohara, the police raided the shop based on information that the emporium was providing cash at high interest rates by taking Indian rupees and jewelry as collateral.

185 boxes, packages and boxes containing gold and silver jewelry were seized from the warehouse of businessman Agrawal. He informed that a machine used to count money was also recovered from his warehouse. “We have also arrested Nij Agarwal and are conducting necessary investigations,” DSP Bohra said, “Other things will be revealed through investigation.”
