A team of the inquiry committee formed by the Ministry of Home Affairs has reached here to understand the border dispute and double clash in Lampata, the border area of Humla and Bajura.
A team led by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bimal Raj Poudel reached Simkot on Sunday, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police Shankar Khadka of the District Police Office.
According to him, the team, which came here to understand the on-site reality of the incident between the two districts, reached Lampata and Chhyachaur areas, the areas where the incident occurred, and then reached Simkot.
The team is scheduled to discuss the incident with the citizens of the border area, people involved in the incident, and people's representatives of the border areas, political party leaders and civic leaders during its stay in Simkot.
Earlier, the Ministry of Home Affairs had formed a team after the clash between the citizens of Humla and Bajura over the border issue from 20 to 24 Jestha took a violent turn.
The dispute arose after the Sudurpaschim Provincial Government allocated Rs 4 million in the current fiscal year to start construction of a police post in the area. When the border dispute escalated, four people from Bajura were injured in a clash between locals from two districts in Lampata. All four injured were rescued by helicopter.
To resolve the dispute, a study team was formed on 11th of this month under the coordination of Sushil Dangol, Deputy Director General of the Survey Department, and a separate committee was formed under the coordination of Bimalraj Poudel, SSP of Nepal Police.
