The 'First Karnali Tourism Conference' is to be organized in Surkhet with the aim of promoting tourism in Karnali Province, attracting investment and expanding international access. The conference is to be jointly organized by the Nepal Tourism Board, Birendranagar Municipality, Surkhet and the Federation of Hoteliers of Karnali Province. The organizers held a press conference on Thursday morning and conference coordinator Tarka Bahadur Shahi said that the conference will be organized from May 22-24, 20260. He said that this conference is being held for the first time in Karnali Province. The conference is expected to highlight the tourism development, promotion and long-term potential of Karnali at the national and international levels. It is said that entrepreneurs, investors, travel agencies, tour operators, hoteliers and tourism experts from the tourism and hospitality sectors of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Delhi in India, along with Nepal, will participate in the program.
Karnali Province has potential in terms of natural beauty, cultural diversity, religious heritage, adventure tourism and hospitality, but it has been overshadowed by the lack of adequate publicity. The conference aims to bring those potentials to the global tourism market.
‘As part of the conference, we will hold BTU meetings, networking programs, tourism destination presentations, property tours, family trips, technical discussions, panel discussions and cultural programs,’ he said. ‘The organizers believe that such activities will create an environment for experience exchange, professional collaboration and long-term partnership among stakeholders in the tourism sector.’
