Maya Kathayat, a resident of Gurbhakot Municipality-12, Piple, has gone missing along with her 11-year-old daughter Asha and 5-year-old son Deepak. The District Police Office, Surkhet, has said that they have been missing since Sunday.
Maya's husband Bhupendra Kathayat had reported to the Gumi police station at 7 am that she had gone missing from home. After that, a 4-member police team under the command of Senior Constable Gopal Gurung, along with the ward chairman and locals, started a search.
District Police Spokesperson DSP Mohanjung Budhapa informed that Maya's bag, shawl, slippers and mobile phone were found on the banks of the Bheri River, about 3 kilometers from Kathayat's house.
35 police and locals are still searching in the same area, but Maya and her children have not been found.
