The Surkhet District Administration Office has warned of action against those who create an artificial shortage of gas and fuel. The administration has issued this warning after traders took advantage of the opportunity to black market gas, saying that there may be a shortage of fuel after the Middle Eastern country Iran and Israel were pushed into war. Issuing a notice on Friday, the administration said, "As various consumers in this district have complained about difficulty in obtaining cooking gas (LP gas) and fuel in the market, we request that no one should unnecessarily hold fuel and gas cylinders and facilitate gas and fuel supply."
In addition, the administration has warned that action will be taken according to the prevailing law if gas cylinders are held unnecessarily, gas and petroleum products are sold at higher prices, and new cylinders are marketed.
