Karnali Province Chief Yagya Raj Joshi has urged the federal government to open the door to development in Karnali.

Speaking on the occasion of the eighth foundation day of Karnali Province on Wednesday, Chief Joshi urged that the constitution be amended after the Falgun 21 elections to open the main gate of Karnali.

‘To restrict Karnali, Banke and Bardiya were merged with other provinces and it was said that Karnali is poor,’ he said, ‘They tried to sell poverty by closing the roads to travel.’

Similarly, Karnali Province Chief Minister Yamalal Kandel accused the civilian government formed after Bhadra 24 of carrying out its first attack on the provincial government. He said that there was an attempt to make the laws made by the provincial assembly and the provincial government useless due to the intervention of the center. ‘While the federal, provincial and local levels are working to give a positive message to Karnali, the center has shown an intention to weaken the provincial government,’ he said, ‘As long as this constitution remains, no one can abolish federalism.’

Similarly, former Chief Minister and Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Jeevan Bahadur Shahi said that Karnali has achieved a lot since the establishment of the province. "After the establishment of the province, the people have been able to express their views directly," he said. "The expenditure has not increased due to the establishment of the provincial government, it was even more before federalism. Now the expenditure has decreased." Speaker Nanda Gurung also addressed the program.
