For the House of Representatives elections to be held on February 21, 18,164 people in 10 districts of Karnali Province have applied for election police. Of these, 17,032 are from the Nepal Police and 1,132 are from the Armed Police Force.
DSP Mohanjung Budthapa, police spokesperson at the District Police Office, Surkhet, said that more than twice the quota has been applied in Surkhet than in other districts. According to him, 18,164 people have applied in the first 7 days of the application period. Many of the applicants are young people.
The quota for the election police in Karnali is 10,752. The Nepal Police has 9,773, while the Armed Police Force has 1,09. He said that preparations are being made to hold a written examination on Magh 5 for the selection of election police. The service period of the election police will be 40 days.
