The customs office has been closed for three months after the import of traders and other goods from Taklakot, China, in Hilsa was halted due to extreme cold.
After traders and goods stopped being imported from Taklakot, China, from the second week of Poush, the Yari customs office was closed and employees arrived at the liaison office in Simkot, the district headquarters, from the second week of Poush, said Ramraj Jaisi, the chief of the office.
He informed that after the import of goods from Taklakot, China stopped, they closed the office in coordination with the customs department and went to the district headquarters, Simkot.
Although there was no snowfall this year, the Nara road section was blocked by snow last October, and the road has been blocked due to the snow that fell on it. Chief Jaisi said that the reason for this is that goods have stopped being imported from Taklakot, China. The chief of the customs office, Jaisi, said that the border crossing towards China has been kept open. According to him, the border crossing will be operational again after the employees return to the Yari Customs Office in the second week of Chaitra. He said that since last Shrawan, the Yari Customs Office has collected Rs. 1.865 million in revenue, double the revenue collected last year.
