A survey team has reached Jumla by helicopter to generate electricity from the water flowing from Gididaha in Tatopani Rural Municipality-4, Jumla.
The expert team observed the Gididaha watershed from the source to the power house construction site from a helicopter. German and Indian experts participated in the team.
The team has started preparing to prepare a DPR by surveying the electricity. According to the DPR, structures for electricity generation will be constructed. Ward Chairman of Tatopani-4 Amar Bahadur Rokaya said that the technical team has been conducting electricity survey work for a year in coordination with the local level. Although the survey was conducted once or twice by mobilizing technical manpower at the local level, this time the experts themselves reached the Gididaha watershed area by helicopter.
Ward Chairman Rokaya had landed the helicopter at the industrial village in Tatopani-4, Ratekhola. Even though the expert team has returned, some technicians are still working on the survey in the village. Ward Chairman Rokaya said, "Homework is being done to generate a very large capacity of electricity from the Gidikhola watershed area." For which, from obtaining permission from the Electricity Authority to discussing resource use with the local community, the work has been going on rapidly, from measuring the area using drones to surveying. Currently, the Nepal Electricity Authority has given permission for the production of 72 megawatts of electricity,' Ward Chairman Rokaya said, 'It is initially estimated that 32 megawatts of electricity can be generated. All reports will be made public by the coming month of Baisakh.'
The expert team has returned after observing the water source used to generate electricity from Gididaha to the place where the power house will be built and discussing with the community. Adhyanta Investment Pvt. Ltd. has taken the responsibility of preparing the DPR of electricity and producing it.
The goal is to generate electricity within five years after reviewing all the reports. 'In the first phase, the technical report has shown the possibility of generating 80 percent of the electricity,' Ward Chairman Rokaya said, 'And the electricity will be generated using the company's investment and local resources.'
Tatopani Rural Municipality has stated that if electricity can be generated and sold in the Gididaha area, which is also a tourist destination, it will be used as a basis for economic prosperity.
