From Shrawan to the third week of Kartik, police in Salyan have arrested 111 people who had been absconding for the past few years and were involved in various crimes in the course of implementing the verdict.

Last week, police arrested Prajwal KC, 21, a resident of Sharda Municipality-1, Srinagar, 24, Nur Alam, 26, Suraj Roka, and 24-year-old Sandeep Nepali, a resident of Mallarani Rural Municipality-2, Pyuthan and currently residing in Srinagar, with 15 puriyas and three grams of narcotic brown sugar.

The District Police Office, Salyan, has now initiated action against them. 

Similarly, Hasta Bahadur Budhathoki, 42, who was illegally cutting pine wood in Darshantakuri Community Forest, Bangad Kupinde Municipality-9, was arrested by the police on Friday along with 110 cubic feet of wood. The arrested Budhathoki has been kept in the custody of the District Police Office, Salyan and is being investigated.

Deputy Superintendent of Police and Police Chief of the District Police Office, Salyan, Dr. Hem Bahadur KC said that 71 people, including 52 who were absconding in the course of executing the verdict, 14 who were under investigation, 2 who escaped from prison during the Genji movement, and 40 people, including one in a case of manslaughter, seven on charges of rape, two for banking offenses, three for vehicular homicide, one for polygamy, five for murder, seven for indecent behavior, six for drug trafficking, six for gambling, one for arms and ammunition, and one for illegal logging in community forests, have been arrested in the past three months. 

He informed that all those arrested for various crimes have been prosecuted and some have been released on bail.
